How to use "The Mamba Mentality" by Kobe Bryant

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.” Harriet Tubman

The children's story is told about a little engine that could. There was a big mountain that was set before this little engine and the little engine doubted that he could climb the mountain. As the little engine went out to climb the mountain he repeated to himself, ‘I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can,’ and with every word, the little engine pushed further and further up the mountain. Then, he makes it to the top and his words went beyond self-motivation but exclaimed success for making it to the top. He did it!

Despite the naysayers and his small frame, the little engine did it!

In the time that you have spent being doubtful about who you are, what you can achieve and feeling fearful about your future, is the time you could have spent changing the world. You become a poser because your believe you are and thus begin to embody that poser mentality. In the many years that have gone before, many important people are lost. People are lost to tragedy, a health issue, a disease of the mind that has left their bodies physically present but mentally in no state to respond to the outside world. It seems like 2020 began with much to look forward to but devastating news has brought your world and your 2020 goals to a halt.

History repeats itself yet again. And what do you do about it?

Tomorrow is but a promise. You do not know when the end is near but what you do know is to make EVERY MOMENT COUNT as your last moment. Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can accomplish today. This does not mean that you spend every day moving forward working tirelessly. What it does mean, however, is recognizing healthy boundaries in work and relationships so that you can be successful with each passing day. Dreamers dream. Yet, the only dreamers you hear about are those who took their dreams and made it a reality. Harriet Tubman did that. Martin Luther King Jr. did that. Langston Hughes did that. Mae Jemison did that. President Barack Obama did that. Kobe Bryant did that.

As the mamba mentality tells you, achievement is every day being a better version of yourself than you were the day before. That means while you may not be afforded the same opportunities as someone else, being great means you work hard at being great. There is this constant push to be the very best version of yourself. Not because someone else wants it for you but because it is important to you.

It is because you think you can.

It is a dream you will execute day by day by day. So that in the end, you can exclaim your success. You did it. You are not a fraud.
