In the Twitter News - Controversial Tweet on 12/12/18

I have no political agenda. I don’t consider myself sexist, racist or any other other ‘ists’ that exist. As a therapist, I am an objective ear in my sessions guiding clients to find their own answers and provide a sounding board for collaboration, brainstorming, identification and healing. With that said, here are my thoughts:
I do not see how her statement led to the outcry for people’s opinions on her ‘ists’ if you will. She identified no particular race, culture, class, etc. I am a strong believer that as readers, we perpetuate our agendas and thoughts into others' opinions when in reality our argument has nothing to do with the other person’s point of view. We compare apples to oranges. Find the tweet and read the comments people made below. People went ‘in’ on her and for what I’m still struggling to decipher myself.
I recently wrote posted on my IG@LWCOUNSELS that read that we become what people say we are when we respond to them as they expected. Kuddos to @ItsLinzzz_ for not responding. Kuddos! As my mother used to tell me, you don’t need to attend every fight you were given a ticket to.
This tweet and the tweeting storm it created is indicative of the various generations trying to state their claim in modern society - from Gen X to Millenials to Gen Y. As the young people would say, ‘Have several seats!’
What I am saying is that I do not support people turning publicly stated opinions into something it's not. By doing so, we create anxiety by increasing our stress level and for what? Really, no reason because what was stated was clearly not what you understood. I wish that we would do a better job of truly listening to what people say (and in this case reading what people say) as opposed to assigning our magnificent interpretation to what was stated. Do not go down that rabbit hole people. And no, I do not think that doing so is ignorant! No, no, no no, no, no, no! (as Gronk would say)
I would love to hear your thoughts on how you felt about the tweet if you commented; what did you say and why did you say it? I’m not looking for people to agree with my personal views, I’m simply asking for dialogue so I can truly understand what link I missed to what she tweeted and what people presumed was her being brainwashed by republicans... and all the other strong opinions made about her. Yes, please I await to be enlightened. Knowledge is power and I am open to healthy debate.
